Bent Proverbs

The other day, one of my coworkers spoke an old proverb - alas, I forget which one - but she got it turned around, front to back. And somehow, the result was both amusing and profound. I've been wracking my brains to remember what she said, but the nearest I can approach it is to bend a few proverbs around as an example of what it was like:

If you're going to break some eggs,
you'll have to make an omlet.

...and...

If you want to do something yourself,
you'll have to do it right.
