Parable of Purloined Heart

To what shall I compare this generation?

It is like the man who woke up in the hospital after surgery. When he opened his eyes, a nurse smiled down at him and said, "Welcome back! For a moment, we thought we had lost you."

"So the operation didn't go so well?" the man asked groggily.

"About average," said the nurse, "for a heart transplant."

"A what?" the man yelped. "I came in for a knee replacement!"

The nurse shooshed him because his pulse rate was rising. "You have to be careful," she said. "Only 30% of your new heart is made of healthy tissue. I'm afraid the donor was a heavy smoker."

"What about the heart you took out?" the man cried.

"Oh, it was in top health. It will probably make some transplant patient very happy."

Let him hear who has ears to hear.
